Space as a practical utility for industries on Earth.
Pillar builds reusable satellites that stay in orbit and act as rentable infrastructure — so companies can use microgravity without becoming spacecraft companies.
Our Mission
Make microgravity usable.
Give teams a practical way to manufacture, test, and operate payloads in orbit without building the entire spacecraft around each idea. Pillar provides the powered satellite — power, data, thermal, mobility, and mission operations — so customers can focus on the work that only microgravity can unlock.
Our Vision
A repeatable industrial path to orbit.
A future where orbital missions are planned with the confidence of infrastructure, not the uncertainty of one-off vehicle development. As access becomes repeatable, space-based research turns into production workflows that matter on Earth.
Our Team
Builders of practical space systems.
We are a team of engineers from Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, Impulse Space, and more. If you’d like to build with us, see Careers.
Flight Heritage
The only commercial team to have docked and undocked spacecraft in orbit — three times.
Northrop Grumman’s Mission Extension Vehicles are the first and only commercial servicing spacecraft ever flown. Pillar’s founders led their on-orbit dockings — the rendezvous, proximity operations, and capture, executed on live customer satellites with no second chances. That experience, paired with engineering from SpaceX Starship, is what Pillar is built on.
Try It
Assemble a tower.
Docking is the whole trick: modules launch separately, find each other, and become one spacecraft. Drag the six modules below together and see what they add up to.
Drag the modules together to dock them. Try to connect all six.
